A possible solution to the GOG vs. SN ads dispute

Dear editor,

I am tired of hearing about this ad dispute. Since Stabroek News is the undisputed leader in popularity for online news, why the newspaper hasn’t offer the government online ads and take away the argument about poor circulations? Here are some proof that stabroeknews.com is the leader in Guyanese web news.

I am attaching a screen shot of Alexa; the web leader in traffic ranking. Anyone can fact check my data at Alexa.com. The chart is read by numbers of visitors of the Guyanese news sites out of 1 million Alexa users.

Another point to consider is Kaieteurnewsgy.com and Guyanachronicle.com is not catalogued by Google News, therefore you cannot get google alerts from those websites. Please note GINA is catalogued by google news.

Stabroeknews.com is the most PDA and cell phone friendly of the Guyanese news sites. I would mostly browse and read Guyanese news from my Sidekick 3 and the problem with Guyanachronicle.com is they use anchors as clickable links, which means the information you need is embedded in a full page of other texts, it can be frustrating when you looking for something specific on a small phone screen. Kaieteurnewsgy.com have a lot of flash on their website, which is not viewable on my phone and on the headline page, I cannot read any of the texts. Basically I can only see the front page picture without any online news.

Thank you,

Asif Mohamed
